FALL UPDATE 2013!

Where Have We Been?

June to October is a long time without an update, but we have taken to Facebook to comment on our puppies and are always amazed and excited to see new pictures of our Grandpuppies! If you haven't seen their progress and been keeping up with your puppy's siblings then first of all, shame on you (kidding) and second of all check back here soon for a nice little update just in time for their 6 month birthday! It's crazy that its been six months already.

The Question Everyone Is Probably Wondering...

Hans found a beer can!
What have Elsa and Hans been up to? Well Hans had a summer of beer drinking (joking, he is not 21 yet) and relaxing. He bulked up and is at his adult weight and height: (80 pounds) and just a tad shorter than Elsa. We call him 'Sausage Dog' because of how firm and round his abdomen is. He is as sweet as ever and has really taken to every form of training we have thrown at him. He is naturally well-behaved and does not even chew things. We left a pair of socks out on the living room floor near where he sleeps and he did not touch them all night or the next day.

Elsa on the other hand has enjoyed her time without puppies and although I don't think she will ever admit it, she misses them despite the look she is giving in the picture below when her puppy Rosie came to visit (formerly known as Isis).

The REAL Question Everyone is Wondering!

When will the next litter be born? Elsa had her heat at the beginning of October and so we estimate the puppies will here in December and will be ready to visit/reserve probably after Christmas or Early January. There will be more updates as we get closer and of course you can expect the same great pictures, stories, love, and updates from us that we have always exhibited.

Thank you all!

Huge Thanks!!!

We just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who has made this litter something memorable. We hope that our different spin on the puppy buying process was something that will stay with you and carry over into a more enjoyable and bonding experience for you and your new puppies. Eight weeks flew by for us and what started out as a simple idea for us has led into something more than we ever imagined.

We spoke to many of you at great lengths about the puppies, but also about our own past experiences. Our two labs are wonderful dogs and we love them, but our own personal buying experience was not the best. We strongly believe that Elsa was probably on a borderline puppy mill where it was literally a five minute process where we saw her, pet her, paid for her and drove away. Many places do this and while it has become acceptable, we think our way is better and we know that many of you agree. We love our dogs and our puppies and are glad that we know where they all have gone and hope to remain in contact with you all as your puppies grow into awesome adult dogs!

For anyone who does not know, we have a Facebook page where many of you have posted wonderful pictures and stories. We enjoyed reading about their firsts (ie; first night away from Elsa, first trips, first toys, and meeting various family members). We continue to look forward to hearing from you all and hope that you will spread the word about what great dogs Labrador's are. Many of you will be shocked at how fast they learn stuff. Our dogs continue to surprise us with their intelligence. Thank you all again!

Almost Time!!! Puppies 7½ Weeks Old

Puppy Birth Certificates

Below is an image of a birth certificate we put together. If you have picked out your puppies name and would like it's name on it we would need that by Wednesday 6/19/2013, otherwise we will leave the name blank. It's just a show-off type of thing and nothing to worry about as far as the certification goes. (yes that is the puppies actual paw print!)

Puppies Vet Visit (06/21/2013)

The puppies will be going to the vet this Friday instead of on Saturday. We fully expect to have the health certificates issues at this time and the puppies will be free to go home. We will send out text messages to everyone letting them know what times we will be available and scheduling you guys to come and pick up your puppies. We are going to the vet first thing Friday morning so I expect it to be fairly early for those of you who can't wait.

The puppies have received their first vaccinations and were treated for hook and tape worms. You will need to take them to your own vet as soon as possible for your own safeguarding and to get them started on a flea
treatment as they are able to start products like Advantage as early as 7 weeks. We have been bathing them with Dawn dish detergent per our vets instructions and combing their fur with a fine comb to remove any fleas we find. They have very few, but you know how these things can get out of control if you do not get them on something fast. We were not able to treat Elsa during her gestation and while breast feeding so unfortunately it happens.

Puppy Pictures

We have been working with the puppies to get them ready for their homes. They are getting good about going outside right away and finding a nice spot in the grass to relieve themselves. They are starting to fetch, but they will need some one on one time to get this down as it's hard to work with 6 puppies at once. We have started letting them swim with Elsa and Hans. We have to drop them in, but they are doing great with swimming, so those of you who are hoping for swimming labs should not have any issues. Below are some pics, enjoy and we will see you all soon!

Puppies 6 Weeks Old

Vet Visit and UPDATED INFO!!!
We took all six of the puppies to the vet on Saturday June 8th. They are all doing fine. They have to go back on June 22nd so we will be taking them that morning for a final deworming and they will be cleared to go to their new owners at that point with their health certificates.  Their go home date has been pushed back to June 22nd which is only a day longer than we initially told everyone. We will be taking them early so everyone can pick up their puppy around noon or after.

As far as their growth, etc, they are all doing well. They are all eating hard food without it being moistened two-three times a day and they are pretty much off of their mother's milk. They are all doing well with concerns to knowing to go outside and go potty, but still too little for accidents not to happen when left for too long. We are working with them to swim, fetch, and come on command. Less than two weeks to go!

Make sure you check us out on Facebook as some of you have already done for more pics than we have here as well as more updates during the week.

Puppies 5 Weeks Old - All SOLD

The puppies are doing wonderfully. They are ahead of schedule as far as their taking to hard food and we have been throttling back their intake of milk. They are running around now and getting into everything as puppies do.

All of the puppies have found good homes and will be going to their new homes on June 21st! We will still be updating this site with pictures until (and hopefully after) they go to their new homes. Also if you were unable to get a puppy this time follow us on Twitter to receive updates about the next litter as well as to see how these puppies are doing as they go off and meet their new families. We would like to thank the families that have come out and seen the puppies and taken the time to really show their dedication not only to having the best new family member ever, but also to the breed itself.

Puppies 4 Weeks Old

Puppies are halfway there!!!

The Puppies are now 4 weeks old. They will be 8 weeks old and ready to go to their new homes on June 21, 2013. You may contact us for further details. Call us at 904-377-8280 and if no answer you can either text or leave a voice mail. We will schedule visits on the weekends between now and June 21st if you would like to come meet your potential new family member and introduce them to your own family. We will be taking deposits of $150 to reserve your puppy. All are healthy and will be going to the vet in 2 weeks. Please make sure to check out our other pictures and information we have listed.

UPDATE:
Bear is no longer available. We have two appointments for this weekend and can accommodate more so definitely give us a call if you would like to come out and look at a puppy or put down a deposit. We will have more pictures in the next couple of days.

New Whelping Box

Also we finished the puppies new whelping box so they have moved into it to spend time away from Elsa, but they are still nursing. We are beginning their weening process now and their whelping box was specially designed to start their potty training via the "Misty Method" (Google it). Basically they are learning to eat, sleep and use the potty in different areas so they carry that over in their crates when they go to their new homes. They learn not to potty where they sleep, making it easier for everyone. Photo below.

Puppies Eating Hard Food

Just a quick note to share a couple of pictures of the puppies eating hard food. We noticed last night that their teeth are coming in nicely so we figured it was time to see how they handled moist puppy food and they devoured it all. As you can see from the pictures, Bear decided to park himself on top of the bowl and eat from each one.

3 Weeks Old & Growing!

Blondie 3 Weeks

Here are some pictures we took today. The puppies are doing great and growing fast. We featured Blondie at the top because she is by far the most advanced so far. She has blossomed early and is the only one who is independent. She barks to come out and play. She also is the best one on her four feet and plays around the most. Most of them are still just lying around and starting to move more, but none of them are even close to the amount of mobility that Blondie has.

Isis 3 Weeks Old

The puppies have had a couple of visitors so far and everyone comments on how fat they are and how cute they are. They all have their eyes open now, but again Blondie seems to be further than the rest of them when it comes to being able to see. The one we nicknamed Bear is still the biggest and he will make a nice stud if someone chooses to breed him.

Also I am building the puppies a new whelping box which will be ready in a couple of days. This whelping box is designed to begin their potty training by introducing them to the concept of separate eating/sleeping/bathroom compartments. This will help them be ready to begin the crate training process when they go home with their new owners.

Video of Puppies at 2 Weeks

Below is a link to the puppies' first video. They are getting bigger and more active as you will see. So far there are a couple of favorites in the house already. One in particular is a little ham in the video. They have all opened their eyes, but two are particularly active as you will see in the video. Enjoy and we will get some more pictures posted in the next few days.

1 Week Old

The puppies are now a week old and all are doing fine. Both black puppies are sold. The chocolates and yellow are still available. The runt of the litter is a chocolate, but the yellow female is giving her a good battle for smallest. The chocolate male is a monster and continues to be rock solid. We believe he takes after Elsa and his Grandpa Max and will be a very nice sized male labrador. There are new pictures available of each puppy you can see by clicking on the side menu.

Litter 1 Page with information and pictures

Click on the image below to go directly to the puppy page which shows information and a picture of each puppy.

We are still working out availability. So far both black puppies have buyers and the runt has a potential buyer. The yellow and the other two chocolate puppies remaining are still available.

We have taken many pictures and will continue to take them each week on Saturday, so be sure to check back here for updated pictures. All puppies are healthy and Elsa is doing fine. She has taken an interest in these puppies that we have never seen from her including food, which for anyone who knows Elsa, is a big deal.

Puppies will be eight weeks old on June 21st and available to go home at that time. Anyone who wants to reserve a puppy can do so with a $100 down payment with the remaining money due by the time you pick up your puppy. Email us with questions or requests for more pics.
